CinePunked comes to this year’s Belfast Film Festival on 23 April.
Film historian Robert JE Simpson, writer/academic Dr Rachael Kelly and BelfastFilm’s Conor Smyth invite you to join them as they discuss and debate Alan Clarke’s 1989 Troubles film Elephant, and it’s influences on Gus Van Sant’s 2003 Columbine-focussed appropriation of the same name.
They’ll be joined by special guest Kevin Jackson, who was location manager on Clarke’s original BBC film. The session will include an audience Q&A.
The panel takes place just a few days after the 17th anniversary of the Columbine massacre, lending a heightened relevance to proceedings.
