Film historian Robert JE Simpson and BelfastFilm’s Conor Smyth lead an interactive discussion on modern cinema classic Amélie at the QFT in Belfast this Saturday 3 September 2016 as part of the 30 Under 30 series being run by QFT in association with the Belfast Film Festival, the Nerve Centre and Strand Arts Centre.
As the venue explains:
“QFT has joined forces with the Belfast Film Festival, Cinemagic, the Nerve Centre and Strand Arts Centre to present 30 Under 30, a new season of must-see films to see before the age of 30.
30 Under 30 gives us another excuse to fall under the spell of Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s fanciful Parisian fairytale starring Audrey Tautou. Heart-swelling cinema at its best.”
We’ll be looking back fifteen years to the cult smash that was Jeunet’s film, its stylings and influence and just why you should see it before you’re 30.
As with our other events the discussion is being recorded for future release.
The 30 Under 30 strand has been made possible by Film Hub NI, with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
