Accidental & CinePunked present Clerks for Cinema Day 2019

CinePunked is delighted to be presenting a special screening of Kevin Smith’s cult classic Clerks in association with Accidental Theatre for this year’s Cinema Day, an initiative by Film Hub NI that sees screens across Northern Ireland celebrate all manner of films on 26th August.

A quarter of a century after his cinematic debut, Smith has recently returned to the characters with the forthcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, and has announced Clerks 3 to follow. Join us as we head back to the age of video stores and the dead end jobs of youth. Stick around for a post-screening discussion led by CinePunked’s Robert JE Simpson and Dr Rachael Kelly.

Accidental & CinePunked present Kevin Smith’s 1994 film Clerks, a slice of 1990s youth that will be familiar to many. Made when Smith was only 24, a film made by young people about young people for young people.
A blend of sexual exploration and moral questions, disaffected youth, slacker culture, independent enterprise and criminality.
CinePunked will host one of its interactive panel discussions, to explore nostalgic youth, and the desire among each generation to hold onto the cultural signposts from their own adolescence, irrespective of the changing world around us.
The discussion will be recorded, with audience participation strongly encouraged.

This event is part of Cinema Day, an initiative by Film Hub NI to celebrate cinema and film across Northern Ireland. All details can be found at www.filmhubni.org
